The long awaited T O B E cd featuring The Overton Berry Ensemble is now available…

Recorded in 1972, it features the remarkable artistry of Bill Kotick, drummer/percussionist extraordinaire…Drummers marveled at Bill’s ability to play with flawless execution and to create the effect of a whole percussion ensemble…It also features Curtis Stovall, bassist and vocalist…Curtis’s rendition of the Les McCann/Eddie Harris standard “Compared to What” is both driving and compelling in contrast to his beautiful interpretation of Chicago’s hit “Color My World”…

This recording also marks the debut of Mark Berry, guitarist, featured on Nat Adderly’s composition “Black Bottom”…Overton Berry, pianist and arranger, displays his arranging artistry with the medley arrangement of the ”Jesus Christ, Superstar” score…The piano interpretations of Roland Haynes composition,”Eglise” and Thad Jones’s “A Child is Born” are warm and subtle…

TOBE Productions engaged the engineering and graphic skills of Keith Terhune, Paradox Studios, over the past two years to faithfully digitally re-master the lp recording and to recreate the original artwork…

The international interest in “Superstar” sparked the interest in reproducing the recording as a cd…

Last year the lp was reproduced on vinyl to meet demand and Sean Berry, TOBE Production’s director, spearheaded the cd production effort after receiving many requests…
